Machine translation. The Portuguese version is the one that counts.
From the first question to the exam simulation, step by step.
This site serves one purpose: to prepare for the driving theory exam in Portugal, in your language. It is not a driving school and does not replace any — but it is where you can study the questions that will appear on the exam, as many times as you want.
On the entry page, you have five questions from a real exam. You don't need to register or provide your email: just answer and see if you got them right. These are real questions, taken from the same question bank that driving schools use.
To enter the serious training area, you need an account: an email, a password, and a six-digit code that arrives in your email the first time. After that, you enter using only your password; the code is requested again from time to time, or when you log in from a new device.
With the created account, you have some full tests for free, to see if the site works for you before paying. When those run out, full access is purchased for a period of time — the prices are on the pricing page.
The account is personal and only works in one place at a time. If you log in from another computer or mobile phone, the previous session closes. It is not a malfunction: it is to prevent an account from being passed from hand to hand.
On the login page, the questions appear in your language. Inside, in the practice area, they appear by default in the language in which you will take the exam — and for most people, that language is English, not yours.
This is on purpose, and it is the difference between studying and preparing. There is little use in practicing in Bulgarian and then sitting for an exam in English: the words of the highway code are precisely what are most difficult. That is why practice is done in the language of the exam.
Your language remains there, as support: in each question there is a button View in… which, as long as it is pressed, shows the text in your language. Release it to return to English. It is to unblock a word, not to do the whole test.
You can choose your exam language in your account, and change it whenever you want.
There are several test modes, each with its own use — from the simulation that copies the official exam rules to the mode that brings you only the questions you usually fail. They are explained on the test modes page.
In Progress you can see how many tests you have taken, your success percentage, your progress over time, and the topics where you make the most mistakes — with a direct link to practice that topic.
And you can see the answer to the question that matters: Am I ready for the exam? It is not a guess. There are three verified conditions: having passed your latest simulations, having viewed a sufficient part of the question bank, and maintaining a high percentage in recent answers. When any are missing, the site tells you which one and how far away you are.
At the end of each test, the result appears, whether you passed or not, and — more importantly — the list of questions you got wrong, with the answer you gave, the correct one, and the explanation. It is the part that teaches you something. In simulations, the answers are only corrected at the end, just like in the real exam.
You have your own invitation link in your account. Whoever registers through it receives a discount on their first purchase, and you gain access time when that person makes a purchase.
tiraracarta.pt is not a driving school. We help you study and understand the process, but a driving licence in Portugal is always obtained through a school licensed by the IMT. We do not issue certificates and we do not replace the compulsory training.
